Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Family Walkie Talkie – Pow Wow ("Pow Wow", "we", "us") handles information when you use our app on iPhone, iPad and Android. Pow Wow is made by Gysbert Johannes Joubert.
- No account, email address or phone number is needed.
- Your voice is sent live to your family and is never recorded or stored.
- Pow Wow is family-only and invite-only. Strangers can't find or contact you.
- No ads. No tracking. We never sell or share your information for advertising.
- You can delete your data at any time from inside the app.
Information we collect
- Display name. The name you choose so your family can see who is talking.
- Profile photo or avatar. Optional, and only shown to members of your family group.
- Family group membership. Which family group you belong to, so calls reach the right people.
- Technical information. Device information the app needs to work, such as a notification token that lets your phone ring when your family calls.
We don't collect your email address, phone number, contacts, location, or payment details.
Your voice
When you press and hold to talk, your voice is streamed live to the members of your family group. It isn't recorded, saved or kept on our servers or anyone's device after it plays.
How we use information
We use the information above only to run Pow Wow: to show your name and picture to your family, to connect calls, and to send call notifications. We don't use it for advertising, profiling or tracking.
Services we use
We rely on trusted providers to run the app. They process data only on our behalf and only to provide their service:
- Google Firebase / Google Cloud. Stores your display name, picture and family group, and delivers notifications.
- Real-time voice service. Carries live audio between family members while you talk. Audio isn't recorded.
- Apple App Store and Google Play. Handle subscriptions and payments. We never see your card details.
We don't sell your information, and we don't share it with advertisers or data brokers.
Children
Pow Wow is made for families, and children often use it with a parent or guardian. Children join a family group by invitation from a family member. There are no ads, no public profiles and no way to contact people outside your family. We collect only the display name and optional picture described above. If you're a parent and want your child's data removed, delete it in the app or contact us.
Keeping and deleting your data
We keep your display name, picture and family group for as long as you use Pow Wow. You can delete your data at any time with the delete option in the app. That removes your profile and family group membership from our servers. Removing the app from your phone alone doesn't delete this data, so use the in-app option first.
Security
We use the security protections of our service providers to keep your information safe. No system is perfectly secure, but we only collect the minimum information the app needs.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete your information, or to object to how it's used. You can do most of this in the app. For anything else, email us.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Significant changes will also be noted in the app.
